Basically it is a convenient method of emailing a group of people with a common interest. In this case, the common interest is TRAUG. We discuss various topics, anything from solving problems to upcoming meetings. Joining (subscribing) to the list will allow you to send and receive messages from the list. This is a low volume list, meaning that there are generally only a few messages per week (sometimes a bunch in a single day, but often days with no messages). When you join (subscribe) you will receive a welcome message. It includes the directions (see below) for joining and quiting the list. I recommend you save the message so that you’ll know how to quit later (it’s bound to happen some day).

To subscribe to the list, send a message to news-request@traug.org with the word SUBSCRIBE as the subject:

Your Email address will be added to the mailing list. You will begin to receive messages sent to the list, and you may post messages to the list following the instructions below. You will not be able to send messages to the list unless you are a member of the list.

If at any time you wish to cancel your subscription, send a message to news-request@traug.org with the word UNSUBSCRIBE as the subject:

You must send this message using the same mail account you used to subscribe to this mailing list.

If you wish to change the mail account you are using to receive your subscription, you’ll need to first UNSUBSCRIBE from the mailing list with your old mail account (follow the instructions for CANCELING YOUR SUBSCRIPTION) and then reissue your subscription request from your new mail account.

To post a message to the list, send your message to news@traug.org via the mail account you used to subscribe to the list. (Mail from any other mail account will be ignored.) Your mail message will be forwarded to all subscribers on this list.
